Welcome to Cross-Tethered Preaching

Cross-Tethered preaching is a free newsletter delivered to your inbox with practical and actionable tips and suggestions designed to help improve your sermon preparation and delivery process.

My goal is to help you preach a better sermon THIS SUNDAY.

A sermon that is exceptionally focused, clear, and provides distinctively cross-tethered sermon application, highlighting now only how the gospel justifies but also sanctifies as we live in union with Jesus as our perfect righteousness.

Hi, my name is McKay Caston.

After serving for twenty-six years as a local church pastor and church planter with a PhD in expository preaching, I now teach theology and homiletics and serve as dean for the Doctor of Ministry program in Gospel Renewal and Pastoral Leadership at Metro Atlanta Seminary.

I've been married to Kristy for 30 years, and we have three children, 27, 24, and 19. ‌ ‌With B.A., M.Div., D.Min., and a Ph.D. in homiletics, I also enjoy school. 🤓

When not developing seminary courses, teaching, or writing, I enjoy being at home and exploring the mountains of north Georgia. ‌ ‌

Many of the tips and suggestions I share in the weekly Cross-Tethered Preaching Newsletter come from an online sermon prep course I created. Originally called The PPGR Preaching System, it is now Cross-Tethered Preaching.

There’s no obligation to check it out. I want you to enjoy and benefit from all the free weekly content I send.

However, you may reach a point where you can’t wait for more or you just want the entire step-by-step sermon prep program now.

When you’re ready, feel free to check out the full course here.
